1/ Solar & Wind are 0 emissions?

Each 1 MW of solar farm power requires between 35 to 45 tons of steel,
+ you need to dig for cadmium, gallium, germanium, indium, selenium, and tellurium

On average 1 MW of wind capacity requires:
103 tonnes of stainless steel,
402 tonnes of concrete,
6.8 tonnes of fiberglass,
3 tonnes of copper
and 20 tonnes of cast iron.

With what you produce

3/ steel, concrete, etc?
Big machines dig it and ships transport it running on Diesel.
You bake steel or concrete using Coal or Gas.

Don& #39;t forget about wind turbine parts replacements.

Approximately 50% of emissions from cement production come not from energy provision,

4/ but from chemical reactions in its production.

Even if you switch to “green” hydrogen:
in country like Germany, UK this will use marginal emissions which are 500-550g CO2/kWh
