Liking someone is a feeling, loving someone is a choice. We can& #39;t really control who we like, but we can control who we love. We don& #39;t have to like everyone, but we do have to love everyone, most *especially* those who we don& #39;t like.

Those who have different interests than us, those who are annoying, those who are on the opposite end of the political spectrum, those who have hurt us grievously - all people who we might never be able to like, but all people who are called to love.

It& #39;s of course easier said than done to say that we have to love even those we don& #39;t like, but turn to meditate upon Our Lord on the cross and ask for the intercession of Saint Stephen, both of whom forgave for those who are putting them to death.
