/6 The #Afghan govt is

Many govt officials and their propagandists are saying that this attack is a precursor of what will happen after full withdrawal of foreign forces. I have some thoughts on that. A thread:
/6 if the #Afghan govt knew right after #DashteBarchiAttack who did it, it means their intel on terrorist activities right under their noses in Kabul is pretty solid. So why couldn& #39;t they prevent it? Why is their intel only good enough to blame after the fact but not to prevent?
/6 after every attack the first question should be: who benefits? Fact is that the current govt in #Afghanistan doesn& #39;t want an end of the occupation and needs foreign military presence to stay in power. They use women& #39;s rights as a powerful tool to gain support from Westerners.
/6 Any attack against women/girls is therefore utilized for maximum propaganda effect. So what happened in #DashteBarchiAttack is exactly what the regime in #Kabul needs to stop the withdrawal of foreign forces and money flowing into their pockets from Western donors.
/6 so to answer the question: who benefits? Well, the people in power in #Kabul. Their regime exists thanks to the White Man& #39;s burden to save #Afghan women. This is also why the regime doesn& #39;t make any effort to crack down on #ISKP/ #Daesh in #Kabul.
/6 this is also the reason why the regime doesn& #39;t provide extra security in predominantly Hazara parts of Kabul to prevent such attacks. The regime thrives on the publicity created by attacks like the one in #DashteBarchi.
