I got fired two days ago because I wasn’t performing. We spent the past two months tirelessly working on leads that had little to no potential. Still managed to bring sales out of them. I’m ngl my dependability wasn’t good. I’ve been late to work on a —
15-20 minute margin more than 8 times the past month. I had my reasons. After getting a final warning and a performance deadline, I worked tirelessly every day, made it to work on time, called at least 150 leads every day to try and get something out of them.
I was on a one sale per day average until one day they decided to take away those leads from me and put me on another channel. They basically wanted me to sell to customers who had cancelled their plan with us and didn’t want anything to do with us which was damn near impossible.
They would hang up on me, curse me, one of them claimed that I was harassing them because I was calling them when they made it clear that they didn’t want anything to do with the company. I tried working my way around it, dialed a few call backs here and there to get a sale.
They put me on a performance deadline and basically made it impossible for me to perform. Two days ago, our director calls us up and tells us that these warnings are motivators. If he wanted to fire us, he would talk to us directly and tell us that he can’t work with us.
That gave me hope. I felt like I still had a chance to redeem myself and perform up to their expectations. Not 10 minutes after that, they send my manager to tell me that they’re letting me go because I’m not performing.
The same man who told us that he would speak to us directly if he wanted to fire us sent someone else to do his bidding. These past two weeks I gave this place my best, for what? To have someone shatter my self esteem by telling me that I’m not a good sales agent?
I was on my way back home when I cried a bit. It wasn’t because I lost my job, it was because this was the one thing I felt like I was good at and I failed at that too. But that’s anything but the truth.
The truth is that private companies dry you out on probationary periods and when they’re done with you they dump you like the trash they think you are.
Ek cheez maine seekh li hai. Jitni mehnat kisi aur ke kaam pe karte ho utni hi apne kaam pe karo. They do not give a shit about you or the people you’re feeding. They get 20x more for the work you do compared to what they pay you.
I was getting paid 2000 Rs on top of my salary for getting them a customer that pays them between 2000-5000 pounds. They will exploit you, use you and dump you. If you’re young, motivated to do something in life and you’re reading this then hear me when I say this.
THE CORPORATE SECTOR DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU.
If you decide to work for them, do not be afraid to ask for more, do not let them exploit you and DO NOT LET THEM DISRESPECT YOUR ABILITIES.

I’m not sad anymore, I have nothing against my ex employers and I’m at peace with myself. What I said applies to all private companies I’m not targeting any single company. I hope someone gets to learn something from what I said and makes wiser decisions. God bless.
