Dear fellow employers, looks like market forces are saying that a lot of ya& #39;ll need to increase your rates of pay.
I run a small nonprofit, I understand the costs of insurance/taxes, etc. But folks need to be paid livable wages.
If you can& #39;t find help, it& #39;s because the job is not attractive and people have choices.

People aren& #39;t lazy but between lack of childcare and the fact that we are still in a pandemic, you need to up your game to attract folks.
You have choices, but if you are still choosing not to treat humans with respect, no, people don& #39;t want to work for you.

At my org, @CCIBoston I have been hiring folks, we recently brought on a ft project lead, and I am now hiring for a communications coordinator and an admin assist, pt positions. But I have had no shortage of applicants.
First off, at @CCIBoston a ft work week is 25-32 hours a week. Everyone also has PTO, part time folks too.
There are a ways we can show appreciation, even if we are a small org w/limited resources.

During the pandemic, I have increased the amount of PTO, because I know we are all dealing with stress and trauma and given our work, we must acknowledge these things.
Point of this rant, I am tired of employers griping, I run a nonprofit and we can treat people humanely.
