Was talking to B about how this pandemic really opened the whole world up to the limitless universe that is the internet
And how I wish that even if this pandemic is over, people don& #39;t have to be forced back into classrooms
Because let& #39;s admit it, there are a lot who just want to get a degree without having to go through the awkward phase of breathing the same air with the same people everyday (ie me)
Plus the hassle of commuting back and forth to school. When you can use that time for more useful things
Especially for kids! A chunk of their time goes into prepping for 7am classes. And parents have to make arrangements on how they& #39;re going to be brought to and picked up from school every single day
It& #39;s possible to get an education through remote learning. And showing up to school for the experience maybe once or twice a week
For some, that& #39;ll be less costly because no transpo expenses, you eat at home and all that
Anyway the whole point of this thread is that there is such a thing as remote learning
AND I just realized from a youtube video that some schools in other countries actually give you that option even before the pandemic?? Of choosing "remote learning" rather than physically showing up to class every single day
But we are a developing country whose government can& #39;t even devise a decent website for a department in charge of "quarantine" or a legitimate contact tracing app that actually works instead of being just a front to show that we are tracing even though in fact we are not
But I really wish schools look into this option! As a parent, it& #39;s kind of weird dropping your kid off at school not knowing what he& #39;s up to 8 hours a day
Would be perfect for Aadam too. He& #39;s a kinesthetic learner who can& #39;t sit still for 30 seconds unless he& #39;s holding an ipad
Adults can do part-time jobs. Kids can be enrolled on real extra-curricular stuff outside school instead of being forced to throw a ball back and forth or run a whole field for PE class (that was totally unnecessary but you need it for a degree)
A few days ago he told us how he wish he could go to karate class and his dad told him that we were going to enroll him before the virus blew up but we couldn& #39;t because we were both in school at the drop off and pick up time for that class. Which made him more
