i eat breakfast ! this helps with thinking about food less in the day. maintaining a regular eating pattern lowers levels of ghrelin (a hormone which stimulates feelings of hunger).
i sleep earlier, i used to night-time binge and going to bed earlier reduced the risk of overeating in the night. i understand this is impossible for some people which is totally okay ! u could keep yourself busy instead of sleeping.
i always have a salad, a safe food or a low calorie snack to eat instead of binging ready for me. i eat this slowly because it releases fullness hormones, telling your brain that i have eaten and that i don’t need to eat any more.
plus, eating slowly -> chewing food better -> better digestion.
i listen to my body and decide if i am genuinely hungry or if i’m just bored, if i am just bored, i’ll do an activity to keep my brain busy. such as:
cleaning, yoga, catching up on homework, reading, painting or drawing, meditating, calling my friends, going for a walk, taking a shower, starting a new series, making a new pinterest board + more !
i stay hydrated! water is your best friend. it acts as an appetite suppressant and tricks the mind into believing you’re full. if you generally don’t like the taste of plain water, lemon water works just fine too.
