I was a Labour candidate in the last local elections

My team and I worked our arses off. Designing leaflets, canvassing, getting abused. But it was worth it because we had a vision

Yet today I can see a polling station from my window and I’m not sure I can bring myself to vote
And that’s because of @Keir_Starmer. A man I nearly voted for, but now see for the unconvincing, unprincipled fraud he is. A leader who:

Shelved the Forde report and insulted hard working labour members who deserve answers for why their efforts were sabotaged from within.
And who - to his shame - didn’t think one of the greatest peace time failures of government and their criminally negligent pandemic response was worth showing opposition to. All because he thought being a tepid cheerleader would make him popular. A moral outrage.
A man elected on false pretences by abandoning his ten pledges & who has no mandate to lead our party.

A man with no charisma, no personality and no communication skills.

A man that embodies a shallow, visionless political class that helps drive so many to apathy and despair
Can’t help but think that in ten years time many of us will look back on the Corbyn period warmly. Because although we lost, it was possibly the only period in our lives where the possibility of a better society seemed possible.

People like Starmer kill hope.
