first of all, our country, the Philippines, was colonized by the Spaniards (333 years), Americans (48 years) and Japanese (3 years) people. Because of this, we may have some similar culture, facial features, language, and many more.
We are indeed an Asian country, specifically, South Eastern. Please don& #39;t call us “Mexican Wannabes” or “American Lookalikes” because not only is it disrespectful, but also can come as a racist comment. We are ASIAN, not White nor Western. We are FILIPINOS, that& #39;s it.
Do not call our skintone "chocolate". Our skintone is called Kayumanggi and we Filipinos should be proud of it. Someone& #39;s skintone should not and never be a reason for you to treat someone differently. We are all equal.
Do not say we are undeserving of higher paying jobs, stereotypes that Filipinos only have minimum wage jobs are wrong. Lots of us may do have minimum waged jobs but they shouldn& #39;t be treated differently. Treat everyone the same regardless of how they earn their income.
When it comes to our dishes like "balut" which means fertilized duck egg. Don& #39;t call it exotic or disgusting. That& #39;s straight-up microaggression.
In terms of language, because of how long the Spaniards colonized us, it made a big impact in our vocabulary. For example,

familia (spanish) / pamilya (tagalog) - family

Lastly, the word "Negro/Negros". If we say it, we are referring to Negros Oriental/Occidental. We& #39;re not being racist, we& #39;re referring to actual places.
