I felt like sharing my current situation.

The medical expenses states side were quiet substantial and for a fraction of the cost we received better health care here

My mom requires bi weekly dialysis, her condition is relatively stable but she is not in a position to travel anywhere. She has been administered the first dose of the vaccine and my father is fully vaccinated.
Over the last week my mom has developed a persistent fever

Yesterday all of us took a covid test. Given the current situation we will get the results in 72 hours. My mom& #39;s fever is not coming down but that is the only symptom she is currently experiencing.
As you can imagine I have been under extreme stress for the last few days.

The media in this instance is certainly not exaggerating. Even in the confines of my relatively affluent neighbourhood in suburban New Delhi, things are critical.

The silence is only broken by ambulance sirens and I have begun to dread that sound. In my neighbourhood every single day for the last couple of weeks someone succumbs to the virus.
Folks have resources where I live but despite that there is a sense of absolute desperation.

I have never ever in my life experienced what I am experiencing right now, a sense of utter helplessness and mortal fear for myself and my family.

I have seen things in
I have experienced casual indifference and arrogant apathy. It made me realize just how fortunate and privileged I am. The life I am living is unimaginable to a vast majority of folks in my country of origin.
The situation right now is heartbreaking. Me and my family are fortunate that we have resources and can manage to arrange proper care but given the circumstances, things are very unpredictable and volitile at the moment.
We are not in a position to travel back to the states because of my mom& #39;s chronic condition. My elder brother is based in https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🇬🇧" title="Flagge des Vereinigten Königreiches" aria-label="Emoji: Flagge des Vereinigten Königreiches"> and even he cannot travel to see us at the moment.
My point of writing this thread is simply to relieve my stress by sharing.

I haven& #39;t properly slept in 48 hours as my parents wellbeing is very concerning at the moment and I am stressed about what will transpire over the next couple of days.
