If you want a specific example, Harry Benjamin& #39;s book "The Transsexual Phenomenon" (Published in 1966), while being horribly out of date with our understandings of trans people today, includes details about surgeries done on trans men, including top surgeries.
As example of someone who transitioned before the 70s, Reed Erickson transitioned and formed an organization, the Erickson Educational Foundation, that funded queer movements starting in the 60s.
