I have never heard a Six60 song (as far as I know), and I find that really weird. How can a band be this popular but not have their music soak through every level of society?

I listen to a lot of music from a lot of genres. I have to, I run a music quiz (May 3, at Hashigozake, come along!). So how have I not heard the most popular NZ band in the last few years?
For the most part, I don& #39;t actively seek out music. Obviously I could& #39;ve listened to Six60, there& #39;s nothing stopping me. But my listening is based on algorithmic playlists, my own digital crate diving, and the occasional direct search "Alexa, play DMX"

So unless Spotify or Apple Music decide I should listen to Six60, I won& #39;t. And if you& #39;re wondering why I haven& #39;t just had a listen, it& #39;s not old man stubbornness about new music. I& #39;m super curious how long I can go. It& #39;s like Whamageddon: ApocaSix60
The oddest part is, to the best of my knowledge, I haven& #39;t heard them in the wild. Uber drivers and taxis play a mix of club beats, 1970s rock, or talkback. Supermarkets play the hits of the 80s and 90s.
How is this band so popular but I don& #39;t hear them anywhere?
When Fat Freddy& #39;s dropped B.O.A.T.S. you couldn& #39;t go outside your house without hearing Wandering Eye. The inside of your head is probably playing it right now.
