Calling the gymternet!! I know I don& #39;t have a huge reach here. You may recognize me as a serial "liker" of posts. I may not be the most vocal member, but I love being a part of this community. I& #39;m hoping people can help me signal boost this message! (con& #39;t below)
I am the secretary for UMass Club Gymnastics and next week we will be participating in a fundraising drive at our school called UMass Gives. Part of the drive involves a competition to see who can raise the most money in an hour. The hour we are going for is 11am-12pm EST on 4/30
This is a HUGE opportunity for our club. Div. 1 gymnastics was cut at UMass in 2002. It took years of hard work to get the club started and we were finally geared up to compete for the first time in 18 years last year before the pandemic shut everything down. We did not give up,
And last week we participated in our very first meet (virtually) in 19 years

Getting the support from the gymnastics community would mean so much to our club. Even while being virtual for most of the year, we have managed to double our roster from 32 to 68 members!
The best thing about our club is we want to make the sport of gymnastics accessible to everyone. We all know how expensive the sport can be, so this fundraiser would really help us keep costs low for both our recreational members and our competitive team members.
Right now, we practice at two gyms in Western Mass and at our primary location we don& #39;t have access to all the men& #39;s events. We would love to give back to our local gymnastics community by buying new equipment for these gyms that would help us grow both our program and theirs.
We also hope to one day be able to compete at NAIGC nationals, but at the moment we would have to finance the whole trip ourselves which isn& #39;t really feasible. On top of everything, we want to show our school how strong the Gymnastics community is. It would be our dream to bring
Gymnastics back to UMass as a varsity sport. But for now, we just want to grow our club and continue to have fun! We have a very active Instagram page so we& #39;d love it if you would follow us there @/umassgymnastics! And please help me get the word out about our fundraiser!
