pico, as well all know, started as a Newgrounds game in 1999 about a kid IN a school shooting setting.
he is NOT the person who starts the school shooting nor does he want to be a part of it, this is a detail I see many people be confused on.

despite this, the game was evidently released in the same year and probably weeks after the columbine high school massacre. Along with many terrorist attacks, a teacher was shot, just like the beginning of pico school.
while the game heavily relies on cartoonish edgy violence, it still should be recognized as a product of its time that is morally wrong by today& #39;s standards and I wish Newgrounds informed their users about cases like these so they are more aware of the content they consume.

as the years passed pico would stray more from these topics and would go into more action-like scenarios with games like pico blast, it& #39;s clear that tom fulp grew out of a mindset that was more accepted back then and pico was changing too.

skipping to the present day, there is now the school shooting joke controversy on fnf, while the joke and its delivery are up to interpretation, personally, I only see it as a self mock on old Newgrounds humor and nothing more.
now, you Newgrounds users need to know that people nowadays are more aware of the content they see and digest, people, have the right to point out stuff they don& #39;t like and that& #39;s completely fine.
regardless if it& #39;s a "good take" or a "bad take" it doesn& #39;t give you the right to shit on them because they don& #39;t understand something that you do, you cannot force someone into a mindset that they will probably not understand to begin with!
at the end of the day, you people just became what the joke itself was mocking

either way, I hope I made my point clear and that both views are heavily flawed, people are allowed to be upset at pico and NG culture, but at the same time, they should also recognize that this pico isn& #39;t the same pico from 1999.
