It is no exaggeration to say that organisations like @StonewallScot and @LGBTYS save lives. Lives that are only put at risk because of the abuse, cruelty, and hatred that bigots send their way.

Scotland has been on a positive trajectory in terms of LGBT+ equality and it would be heartbreaking to change course now - but that is exactly what we are in danger of doing.

Disinformation about the LGBT+ community has been rife in scottish politics for the last few years and is increasing at an alarming rate. It is damaging, and eventually killing, too many people.

I believe in independence because I want a fairer and more progressive Scotland. Independence delivers nothing if it indulges bigotry. Scotland deserves better than that.
