Somebody with better antenna theory than me: What& #39;s the purpose of this inductor (L71) on the antenna feed?

I& #39;m planning on moving R22 to R24 to make use of an external antenna.

Next steps: find a permanent workaround (firmware hack?) to reduce tx power by 6dB due to extra antenna gain so we don& #39;t have an AP screaming louder than the clients.

If you& #39;re keen eyed, yes, those are 0603s.
I used the wrong tweezers and yeeted the tiny thing somewhere into the long pile carpet, to be lost forever and perhaps one day eaten by the roomba.
