Sidhattha Gotama did not become a buddha. Sidhattha Gotama went away. And when he went away, there was nothing left but bodhi.

If you fancy that you& #39;ll be the next buddha, Mara will immediately show up masquerading as Maitreya & seduce you into being reborn as a nasty little selfish critter who wants to become a buddha. Don& #39;t fall for his tricks. Give yourself away for the benefit of all sentient beings.

How do I know? Because I fell for it, of course. I always seem to fall for Mara& #39;s tricks... at least once. But I learn. Together we learn.

This isn& #39;t about me or you. And that& #39;s the best news of all.
