(1) Fitz Thomas & Sheila Shepperd died almost exactly 24-hrs apart in June. Both victims of major 911 failures. The difference in response to these incidents by political leaders, appointed officials & the news media is shameful & should be shocking to us all. (more) @petulad

(2) After the drowning of Fitz Thomas, there was transparency, accountability & rapid changes at both Loudoun & Montgomery 911 centers. Appointed officials were candid. Elected officials spoke up. An investigative report issued. The local news media covered it in a big way (more)

(3) 4 days after Sheila Shepperd died & DC 911 failed, I reported it. No local news media was interested in finding out what went wrong. No appointed or elected official has ever spoken up (still hasn& #39;t). No investigation. No transparency or accountability. (more)

(4) It took a national trade publication to show us DC 911 failed Shepperd & the 13-yr-old daughter trying to save her mom& #39;s life. Despite this failure being part of a much larger pattern of neglect at @OUC_DC, only @Comm_Daily has been doing the deep dive that& #39;s needed. (more)

(5) When will the news media & DC& #39;s leaders wake up to the fact this isn& #39;t a one-off? It& #39;s the daily confusion & delay that& #39;s long afflicted DC 911. These are the names of ones we know about: Carol Glover, Yafet Solomon, Fitsum Kebede & Sheila Shepperd. How many others are there?
