This& #39;ll be my last thread on Twitter. After my 60th birthday on Tuesday I began reflecting on how much more work I was able to accomplish prior to social media while seeming to have more free time for the simple enjoyments of life. 1/4

So, I will be deleting my two social media accounts: Twitter & Facebook. Originally I considered just taking a respite rather than making a radical departure, but then these words of Christ came to mind, "And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out;... 2/4

it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and to be thrown into hell." So, deletion is really the only way to go.

Does anyone really believe the world is a better place because of the existence of social media,... 3/4

and that if it all vanished tomorrow we would be worse off? It& #39;s habituated in me reflexes that are not good for the soul. I& #39;d rather die holy and peaceful than impious and angry. And so should you. 4/4
