If you’re a leftist upset that folks are celebrating Trump’s electoral defeat you’re out of touch. We have a lot of work to do for a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, Tuition Fee College, and the overthrow of Capitalism. Shaming working class people for celebrating is a bad start

My immigrant parents are estatic. They know just as well as all of us that Trump took over the deportation machine built up by Obama/Biden. But pretending that a Trump presidency and a Biden Presidency would have been the same is a joke.

Of course I wish they didn’t have illusions in the Democrats, but they’re right that Trump creates a worse situation for working people.

About the only thing shaming them and other working people will accomplish is making it harder to win them over for the fights ahead.

Believe me, I’ve been doing to work to win them over to socialist politics - it sadly hadn’t happened yet (though my mom was a fan of Bernie!). They know me, my views, and that I voted third party. They may not fully understand it, but they respect it.
