Facebook having such a huge stake in VR is very, very bad for the future of it. Some people who are very into VR get really upset when you point this out, though, because they’re so invested (emotionally) in VR going forward and expanding.

Also - I wish it weren’t this way. Riven was one of my favorite games I ever played as a kid, so the idea of playing Myst in VR is incredible to me. But I’ll wait til I can play it without any ties to Facebook or any other data-slurping attention economy platform.
