So to clarify for anyone - the R word is an ableist slur used to hurtful effect against a whole bunch of people and shouldn& #39;t be used ever.

*Maybe* you didn& #39;t know but now you do and I& #39;ve got no tolerance for it at all.

Also have very little patience for people who react angrily to the idea that they should be mindful in their language.

Maybe just chill and find out how language can affect people in ways you didn& #39;t realise. We don& #39;t *have* to be horrible to each other.

You can also not understand the full implications of your language, be informed and then just correct yourself going forward. We do it all the time.
