We have to 1. Genuinely listen - what are their values? What do they care about? 2. Persuade - reframing messages to align with their values. I think @PeteButtigieg had the right idea when he talked about freedom - #PublicHealthTwitter 2/n

Freedom is "something our conservative friends have come to think of as their own," said Buttigieg (in @esquire). But the right...only sees "& #39;freedom from.& #39; Freedom from taxes, freedom from regulation. As though government were the only thing that can make you unfree." 3/n

Exactly. Freedom and family and faith and all these other values aren& #39;t just conservative territory. We need to reclaim them - I think our policies actually do a better job of protecting all these. Let& #39;s make that argument. #PublicHealthTwitter 4/4
