Congratulations to @WeAreNovation and @AphexTwin on the AFX Station.
Bizarre to see a product that took shape in Novation& #39;s own R&D dept 6-7 years ago hit the market now.

I& #39;m not seeking bad blood here, I certainly wouldn& #39;t be doing what I& #39;m doing today without Novation, and RDJ has supported our business a few times, but it& #39;s very odd to see ideas I offered up to Novation passed off as someone else& #39;s.
Whether this is all a case of great minds etc. remains to be seen, but this whole thing seems... odd...
I worked for Novation during an industry placement year as part of my university course. I learned a HELL of a lot whilst there, but also managed to become a small part of the team working on the BSII. As such, I threw in some more "wildcard" ideas on to the R&D fire.
One such idea came in the form of a PureData patch which worked in between the BSII& #39;s MIDI keyboard output and its synth engine input. The PD patch would take key hits, convert them into program changes and, voila, AFX Mode.
This is absolutely not a novel idea by any means, and I& #39;m sure it& #39;s something that RDJ had/has been doing for years, but Novation had this back in 2014. Does it take 5 years to implement basic-but-weird program change functionality into firmware? Nope.
Secondly is the look of this thing - to me this is near unbelievable. I dressed a pre-production unit in Davies knobs back in 2014 and had the general consensus from the R&D dept that it looked shit.
It& #39;s interesting putting the FSS house style next to the new AFX Station. Sure, not the same, but that Cutoff knob is a straight up Davies rip off.
