I might be speaking for myself when I say this, but yesterday was absolute betrayal. As a die hard activist for my Lebanese revolution I felt betrayed yesterday and I feel the truth must be heard no matter what! During the last few weeks leading up to Saturday October the 17th...
...coalitions and alliances along with independent thawra groups all over Lebanon coordinated through thick and thin trying to put aside all differences for the sole purpose of aligning our movements because that is what the TRANSPARENT, HONEST, and GOOD WILLED part of this....
...thawra wants to achieve! ONE unified opposition that can put Lebanon& #39;s political deadlock at a fork in the road, either continue with scum bag politics or shift to a new way of life and governance.
But yesterday was a CLEAR example of how not all players think the same...
But yesterday was a CLEAR example of how not all players think the same...
... yesterday as hundreds of protesters from various groups from around Beirut and Lebanon gathered in Martyr& #39;s Square to demonstrate their determination to carry on their Lebanese Revolution, others had different interests being cooked up. As we marched through the ring bridge..
...and all around Beirut, we carried one flag and avoided all branded materials that might make us look like we were different from one another. We marched as Lebanon, one and only one. The sight was overwhelmingly empowering....
... In our meetings leading up to the 17th, we held multiple meetings with @AnaKhatAhmar and co. to discuss what they were planning and how we could tie everything together. Their first idea of a high budget parade was met with clear opposition as no one was willing to support...
... a flashy event that cost thousands of USD in an area that desperately needed financial support for rebuilding destroyed homes. They took that into consideration and released a statement saying they canceled the event due to fears of COVID-19 (what a joke) only to release....
...a few days later that they were going through with the شعلة الثورة event. They played it off as a unifying event that brought together people from all over Lebanon to light ONE torch together to keep the revolution& #39;s flame alive...so beautiful...yet so devious...
...after 3 hours of marching we arrived at the port, at the torch, to the biggest surprise we could ever expect. We arrived with hundreds of pure, free thinking, passionate thawra activists to a stage with make-up covered divas and reporters pointing all cameras at their faces...
... as soon as we arrived someone grabs a microphone (after they had told us no stages) and began to thank the organizers that were able to bring together all these people for one event....excuse me?
Yes, that& #39;s what they said.
They go on to thank and name the organizers....
Yes, that& #39;s what they said.
They go on to thank and name the organizers....
..."thank you @AnaKhatAhmar, thank you @Kataeb_Eng, thank you...." they go on to read a list of names, and the whole time the 50 people they were able to bring together from all the groups that participated in their torch move were clapping and cheering in hope that we would...
...join in the excitement and cheer on....yes...that& #39;s what they thought. Instead they were met by #كلن_يعني_كلن chants which caused the @LebaneseKataeb boys to turn defensive mode on and cuss out the kaffiyeh and Palestine, both things that were not even being discussed...
....the beautiful parade we organized turned into a fight (that all the TV channels loved to cover and show on live air time) and it was all thanks to AKA and their devious schemes. In a nut shell you can form an alliance with whom ever you choose to, after all that is politics..
...however claiming you& #39;re a thawra movement but engaging in devious, scheming behaviors like avoiding to tell us that a traditional political party was one of the organizers/funders of the torch as well as telling us in our meetings that no stages/branding or even credits were..
...going to take place during the event and then doing the complete opposite just shows us who you truly are. You are simply a modern version of the sulta, same shit different toilet. You are the type that paints the building from the outside and leaves it rotten from the...
...inside. I have spoken my word and let the world know, AKA commit political suicide on stage on October the 17th, 2020.
You are disgusting and we were fooled into guiding the masses right to your diva& #39;s stage.
