It’s super cool to see @LieutenantDans7 thriving in the NLCS. When dans was assigned to @HillsboroHops my boss @wombokl was cool enough to let me come with him when we picked him up at the airport. Stryker Trahan was with him too. It was cool that we were being assigned two
First rounders. Dans got in the car at the airport and was immediately incredibly friendly. I learned in my time with Hillsboro that almost every single guy is a really good guy, but Dans was on another level. He would sincerely ask you about your upbringing, your story, your
family, etc. there was nothing fake about him. We immediately discovered we both loved old school hip hop and over the course of the month he was in Hillsboro we’d quiz each other on who made the song that was playing over the loudspeaker. He was hyped when I was able to tell him
that it was Nappy Roots who made “Good Day.” I mean, come on that’s an easy one.
His first game in Hillsboro was electric. Huge crowd came to see him and he was lifted in the 7th inning. He wasn’t 100%. The game ended up going 13 innings and we lost. After the game fans were

lined up from the dugout all the way up to the concourse hoping to get an autograph. Dans did at least 5 interviews pregame with our team and local media, played his first pro game that went 13 innings, and that dude literally signed autographs until every single person got one.
Not only that, he obliged to every single kid that wanted a photo, engaged in conversation with everyone. Asked the kids questions about their baseball games.
And he did it every single home game he played at Ron Tonkin Field. He was incredible, and he was genuine.

I say this all because it’s simply so cool to see such a wonderful guy have success. He deserves it all. He couldn’t be a nicer, more sincere human and I was so lucky to get to know him for a brief period of time, and we were so lucky to have him in Hillsboro.
Let’s go Dans!
