my stance on the tom felton situation;
i’m just going to say this now to prevent any further confusion. i support tom felton. i am cis, so i have absolutely zero right to defend his actions or say that he didn’t hurt a lot of people, because he did. but it is my personal opinion and right to continue to support him. -
he has been my comfort since 2015 and i’m not sure what i would do if i just had to let him go. he does need to apologize and address the situation, but i honestly truly cannot see why people would want to cancel him or claim that he’s transphobic when he’s stood up for trans -
rights in the past. anyone can like tweets by mistake, and i’ve heard it was unlikely because he never uses twitter and unliked it after the situation blew up. i understand that and i sympathize with anyone who was offended. i’ve also heard rumors that he has apologized on a -
live, but i’ve yet to see the proof. although i am the b part of the lgbt community, i have been an ally for trans rights since i was in elementary school, before i really ever understood what being trans meant. especially being raised in the deep south where everyone around me -
is bigoted and uses religion as an excuse to disregard another humans life. i have suffered with homophobia towards myself in my old town ever since i started public school. i would never, EVER, stan someone who is filled with pure hatred and blatant disrespect for another -
human being. that’s why jkr can kindly erase herself from the hp universe. we are all the same and deserve to be treated as such. anyone who disagrees, please feel free to unfollow or mute me because the last thing i want to do is offend someone or trigger anybody. -
