Because this year& #39;s Bake Off was filmed over a compressed time frame, with bakers and crew living together the whole time at the height of the pandemic& #39;s first wave, what we& #39;re seeing here as the weeks go by is a group of people gradually breaking.
None of them can even make brownies now. By the end there& #39;ll just be three people running around the tent with their hair on fire.
This isn& #39;t a serious point, btw. It& #39;s just that the series so far has quite a chaotic energy.
Noel has quite clearly lost it already, for example.
Remember, these people are living together, so there& #39;s definitely a different atmosphere! It& #39;s interesting, that& #39;s all!
If we spent weeks living with a giant crow, a sentient bottle of too-strong aftershave and the Ur Posh Tory Mum, we& #39;d forget how to bake brownies too.
