I really don’t think there will be a battle between Melissa and Ochako

In the movie, Melissa and Uraraka get along pretty well. At first, Uraraka was jealous that they were hanging out together, but towards the end they’re fine and no bad feelings

AND it seems where we currently are in the manga, the shift is not even focused on Deku and Uraraka.

Uraraka’s focusing on being a hero, and Deku is more focused on becoming the greatest hero more than anyone else (minus Bakugou)

It seems that Hori is letting Uraraka and Deku (more so Uraraka) find their individual goals and achieve them.

Even in her story of the light novel, the argument a lot of people like to say for kacchako is that he was bullying/abusing her (which we knew wasn’t true, but people STILL don’t get it).

Ochako defends Katsuki twice, the first that their fight wasn’t bullying.

The second about his language and if he didn’t say harsh words then he wouldn’t be Bakugou (the love and acceptance gets me every time

Even though Yamashita doesn’t talk about kacchako, it still gives us shippers hope that our ship will happen.

She’s very smart, and knows how to work with technology and designing support items for hero’s already.

And again, I don’t think her and Uraraka will hold any hostility towards one another. Melissa never did anyways. Where Uraraka’s development is at, I don’t see her getting+

Jealous either if Deku and Melissa were together and hung out.

Ochako’s grown from that — besides, we’re not even focused on ships right now in the manga. We just want these kids alive

Still, in light of this, we know that Yamashita is NOT Horikoshi, but what we also get from this interview is that Yamashita is an observant individual.

He see’s potential in Deku and Melissa or else he wouldn’t have said what he said.

This interview question is also curious to me because why would they ask that question if people didn’t think anything special were going to happen between Melissa and Deku

My final thoughts on this?

Yamashita I don’t think knows anything about who will end up with who at the end of the series, but it’s proving to be true that Melissa may appear in the future of the manga, again, once things are settled.

Why else would she be given a spin off story and appear in a special chapter? She’s a special character herself

At the end of the day, it’s all up to Hori, but we kacchako shippers know that Horikoshi is handling our ship with care and connecting things with them — as for Dekulissa, I definitely see things from Yamashita’s POV (minus the Melissa vs Ochako) They have great potential!
