2/ Who are ADF? Alliance Defending Freedom opposes abortion, believes health workers should be allowed to refuse abortions on religious grounds, oppose same sex marriage & civil unions, & adoptions by same sex couples. They actively campaign & organise for these beliefs.

3/ Wolf (Women's Liberation Front) are a US radical feminist organisation campaigning for women's rights.

In 2016 they formed a working partnership with ADF, which has only grown in strength over the last few years.

Significantly, they also received funding from ADF.

4/ In 2016 WoLF Board member Kara Dansky applied for and received a $15,000 grant from the Alliance Defending Freedom.

5/ Alliance Defending Freedom has strict conditions attached for grantees to receive funding. One is that they uphold ADF's 'values'.

Three core values (see pics): 'Religious liberty, sanctity of human life, defense of marriage & family'.

IE: Anti abortion/anti LGBT rights.

6/ What effect might Wolf being funded by a powerful anti women org with strict funding conditions have on their ability to advocate for women's rights? Well, ADF gag what WoLF campaign for & against. It's no surprise that their focus has become solely on trans activism.

7/ Pushing back against 'Trans ideology' is the single issue binding WoLF and ADF in solidarity - WoLF, because they believe it curtails women's rights &, ADF, because they believe in the heterosexual family unit, are homophobic & detest gender non conformity.

8/ However due to their solidarity on this single issue (& funding conditions) Wolf overlook ADF's anti abortion/anti LGBT stance & don't campaign for abortion rights or on lesbian & gay issues. In fact, their boards of directors give their support to the pro life Trump admin.

9/ Can WoLF be seen any longer as organising on behalf of women's rights? Some say yes, since they see trans activism as the biggest threat to these rights. But they blind themselves to how WoLF are now effectively a front for a powerful anti women, anti LGBT Religious Right org.

10/ This thread only scratches the surface of WoLF's ties to ADF & other Religious Right orgs (more to follow). The funding issue raises questions: how free can any group be when funded under strict conditions? How feminist can a feminist org be when involved with women haters?
