this might be a controversial take but i think monosexuality labels simply were not designed to account for the existence of trans and nonbinary people
like they& #39;re clearly rooted in "sex based" attraction, not gender based attraction, so you have a bunch of people who fit the criteria for, say, heterosexual attraction but who do not identify as the opposite sex
like it& #39;s highly unrealistic that as a homosexual or heterosexual person you& #39;re *only* going to be attracted to binary cis and trans people because there are many nonbinary people that can fit your preferences while still being nonbinary
for the time being i think it& #39;s important to treat them more as vague guidelines than a rule
