i need someone to explain how to be an adult to me, and help me start to figure it out. i& #39;m in no rush, but i& #39;ve never learned important adult life things. i won& #39;t be in school forever, i need to know this stuff. a thread on the things i don& #39;t know but should/need to:
I don& #39;t know how credit works.
I don& #39;t know how to apply for a credit card, or manage a credit score.
I don& #39;t know what to do with my bank account once I graduate, as my account is linked to Carolina. Do I need a real people account? Does it automatically switch? Does it matter?
I don& #39;t have my license, and don& #39;t know the process of getting one. (Yes this is a simple trip to the DMV, I& #39;m aware)
I don& #39;t know how to go about purchasing a car. Or a house, for that matter.
The only loan I know how to take out is for college debt.
I have no earthly idea how interest works. I understand why it exists, but I don& #39;t get the rates.
I don& #39;t know how to even go about having a child? Like yes, sperm meets egg, child eventually forms. But- what all happens to my body? How many appointments do I need? When will I know if there& #39;s a problem with me or my child? What happens to my body post birth?
Realizing through this thread that I& #39;m entirely reliant on my parents. Completely.
I don& #39;t know how to finance things. What does that mean? Why do it? Do I have to? Is it smart to?
I don& #39;t know... taxes. They exist, yes. How do I file them. What am I paying. What do all those numbers mean. What do I need to keep over the years for taxes (and can I do so electronically or must I have paper copies). Why is Trump getting away with tax evasion.
Is it better to live in an apartment? Cheaper? More expensive? Easier? Harder?
This thread makes me feel

Do house payments ever? Stop? Or are you always gonna be paying for your house even after you& #39;ve paid what you bought it for, because like paying for land or whatever?
How many types of insurance am I supposed to have? Life, car, house, health, what else? How many different types am I supposed to have? When am I supposed to get them?
