nobody asked for this but I have a lot to say on the current state of politics in the U.S. rn. I wanted to start with the point that I AM registered to vote and will be voting blue this year.
TW/CW // transphobia , racism , misogyny , immigration , homophobia etc.

as much as I love bernie, he was not going to be able to win this year. he was too far left (I am aware he is not ACTUALLY a leftist, but he is far more left than biden)
hypothetically, coming from tr*mps presidency, the country would not have been able to transition from tr*mp to sanders. there would be an uproar. our country will not be able to run on socialism until +
many years from now. we are currently too close to fascism for us to smoothly transition to socialism until many years from now. I do believe a revolution is coming, but I highly doubt it will be in our lifetime.
On to the topic of Tr*mp vs Biden. While Biden has done MANY questionable things, there is no doubt in my mind he is the better candidate for the upcoming election. (I will link his campaign page for more info below) tr*mp has said the most utterly disgusting things about +
POC, women, the lgbt+ community, and many other things. Tr*mp gives his supporters the idea that it is OKAY to be racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, xenophobic, etc. (I am aware I have missed quite a few, its almost impossible to list them all at this point) +
Tr*mp also has complete disregard of climate change. (dropping a video at the end of this thread) the fact that the POTUS can ignore one of the largest issues our country is facing is absolutely DISGUSTING.
I won’t touch on this topic much because there is already so much news around it currently but tr*mp KNEW how bad the coronavirus is and didn’t do a thing. he also uses it as an excuse to be racist.
when you say that you aren’t voting because voting for Biden makes you uncomfortable, you are putting people who cannot survive under tr*mps administration in danger. I fear that if he is re-elected, hate crimes will go up, immigration will be more limited than it already is +
and lgbtq+ people will lose basic human rights. as I don’t want this thread to sound biased, I would like to address the things joe biden has done. biden was vice president for 8 years. while we can all agree that obama was NOT a savior or someone to be praised +
we can agree that biden having a political background is more than we even have with tr*mp. Biden has been a public defender and was a six term senator in Delaware. we have all seen the pictures of Biden getting creepily close to women and young girls. there is NO excusing that+
but his campaign is one that supports many important causes & equality. another topic I would like to touch on briefly is the empathy levels of both Biden and Tr*mp, as I am sure you all have seen Tr*mp calls Biden “sleepy joe” +
this is extremely offense as Biden has struggled with a stutter his whole life and a speech impediment is not something too make fun of. Biden put out a tweet that I can link below publicly telling Tr*mp that he is sorry for the loss of his brother. on the other hand,
Tr*mp’s administration has mocked Biden for walking around a cemetery to find his late wife’s grave.
that being said, please try your hardest to educate those around you who can vote. This election is more important than some may think . I am going to link a few things under this thread as well. I am censoring “tr*mp” because I don’t want this to turn into a debate.
I would like to reiterate that I understand we all have different political opinions, but HUMAN RIGHTS are not political opinions. if there is anything you would like to add to this thread please feel free, just be respectful to anyone who you are speaking to !

if you read all of this, thank you! I am aware this can be a lot of information to take in so please, take the time you need to do research. I am not an EXPERT in politics by all means. this is just something I have been wanting to get off my chest.

also just to clarify: i would not classify myself as a biden supporter. but i believe he is the best option we have this election year
