1) gus is probably one of the most powerful witches in his grade, maybe even at the school. he skipped TWO GRADES and has shown many times that he is excellent at magic (which leads to my next point
2) many times throughout the season we have seen him make multiple sentient illusions of himself and others. eda mentions that it would have taken powerful magic to animate the house in episode 6. she could have been referring to willow, but gus definitely had a big role to play.
3) while gus has not had too much character development yet, he is shown to be someone who commits to their responsibilities, even if that means going through some weird circumstances, like we see in episode 9
4) gus is an entertaining and fun character. while humor is subjective, i think that gus carries the scenes he’s in, from him being enthusiastic about flag waving to wanting to own a human bucket to this interaction:
overall, gus is VERY underrated for different reasons, but he needs some appreciation and i love him so STAN GUS
