Monday is my last payment of my surgery & it was worth every single penny (not the aftercare) https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🄳" title="Partying face" aria-label="Emoji: Partying face"> I chose to part finance my sleeve at 0% over 10 month as that was right for me at the time there’s no shame in financing anything you want or paying in full https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="āœŒšŸ¼" title="Siegeshand (mittelheller Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Siegeshand (mittelheller Hautton)">
I forget how much weight I’ve actually lost half time but it’s 119lb in less than 9 month https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😳" title="Errƶtetes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Errƶtetes Gesicht"> ppl think a sleeve is an easy way out but it’s not you can still eat all the wrong foods & put weight on, its legit the most mentally challenging battle I’ve had to face after depression
I had to cook a whole Xmas dinner for my family after I just had it done & I couldn’t eat a thing, I couldn’t go out with my mates anymore you don’t realise how much your life/events revolve around food and drink
obviously I’ve chosen to drink but not everyone does as it affects them differently. I can now go to restaurants but I’ll always be asked if my food was ok cause I’ve left 3/4 of the starter as that’s the only amount of food I can manage for a meal drawing more attention to me
and this will literally be my life for the next 15 months until I can eat a ā€œnormal sized mealā€ you still have to exercise, you still have to eat the right foods, you become intolerable to a lot of things you used to like (I can’t eat fish anymore)
& don’t get me started on the amount of plastics I personally need/want once I’m at my happy weight. Many days I look at myself and ask why I did it as I was happier with how I looked before an then other days I’m more confident as I am now, it’s so mentally draining sometimes
Not everyone needs or wants plastics, I do but I also did before the surgery through insecurities. I don’t regret the decision I made, it’s just really not the easy way out to lose weight as many people think it is
