Keyword is “expect”. Everyone has to work late and on weekends every now and then (I certainly did way too often) because plans change, experiments are long/don’t work. That’s just the nature of scientific research.

Do I think he changed his approach over the last couple decades, in a system that encourages and rewards toxic work culture? No.
But do I think he will truly promote a cultural shift now he’s the EiC of a major journal?
Also no.
