I am very excited about #SelfPubFantasyMonth and in honor of that here is a short thread of links to my reviews of some of my favorite self published Fantasy books! I hope to add more this month, but we’ll see how that works out with my baby arriving soon!
Starting with The Heart Of Stone by @BenGalley which is one of the best Fantasy books I’ve read! #SelfPubFantasyMonth is a great time to discover how amazing self pub works can be! This standalone Fantasy delivers on characters, worldbuilding, and story https://redstarreviews.com/2017/04/11/this-story-has-heart/">https://redstarreviews.com/2017/04/1...
Seriously The Heart Of Stone will grab you right from the get go. I loveeeeee seeing perspectives of ancient others and viewing humanity through their eyes and @BenGalley delivers!
One of the first Self Pub Fantasy books I read was The Crown Of Stones: Magic Price by @cl_schneider & it still has one of the BEST characters I’ve encountered and it is so well written! A tortured soul who has to betray his own people or his love! https://redstarreviews.com/2015/04/13/a-bright-star-an-incredible-book/">https://redstarreviews.com/2015/04/1...
I recently read The Wrack by @john_bierce and really enjoyed how instead of centering the book on the people the author centers it on something completely different! Self publishing can allow for a lot of experimentation and creativity! https://redstarreviews.com/2020/08/06/storytellers-on-tour-the-wrack/">https://redstarreviews.com/2020/08/0...
I promised this would be a short thread so I’ll add just one more suggestion for your #SelfPubFantasyMonth TBR and this book is one of my top favorite books ever read:
If I could make you read just one book I would have you read The Deadbringer by @tomesandcoffee because it is AMAZINGLY GOOD! Dark Fantasy with Horror elements mixed in combined with the best dialogue you’ll read plus amazing characters & worldbuilding! https://redstarreviews.com/2019/04/30/read-this-book/">https://redstarreviews.com/2019/04/3...
So please join in on #SelfPubFantasyMonth and give the world of self published Fantasy a try because you might just discover your next favorite book/author! Thank you @SelfPubFanMonth for hosting this lovely month!
