I really don& #39;t get why it is so hard for people to understand the Cedric signing?!
1) As a back up, who& #39;s going to agree to come, knowing that they& #39;re not going to play very often, who& #39;s got a better track record and experience than Cedric?
2) His reported salary is

3) Regarding the 4 year contract, if we& #39;d have given him a 3 Yr deal, at the end of this season, (or actually earlier going by the calendar yr) we& #39;d have to

Renew the contract already going by the 2 yr rule of sell or renew.
4) because of the small outlay and salary, we cannot lose, we don& #39;t HAVE to keep him for the contract term, we can sell him at the end of the season or following and return a profit or at least make it back

5) He& #39;s a decent squad player, he& #39;s experienced in the Premier League, he& #39;s won the Euros playing for Portugal alongside Ronaldo, he& #39;s won 2 cups in Portugal and played in Europe.

So going to the initial point, he& #39;s not a starter, he& #39;s a back up player. Decent back up imo..
