#Tenet, masking & windowboxing.
If you& #39;ve seen the film in a regular cinema....you probably have had it show like this.
You& #39;ll probably have mentioned to staff or asked on Twitter, and the cinema would then say it& #39;s intentional because of the 65mm cameras. It& #39;s...not. (1/)

It& #39;s the exact same issue that happened on DUNKIRK 3 years ago. The film file sent to cinemas is 2.20:1 letterboxed to 1.85:1 for the highest possible resolution. The instructions sent to cinemas by WB are below...but many cinemas appear to not be following them. (2/)
Now, why is that? No projectionists in venues able to set this up properly, for one. There& #39;s some as well it seems who are not happy at filmmakers going for non-standard formats like this, or 2.0:1 etc. Not worth the fuss.
A shame but... (3/)
