It makes me sad when people post comments like “I haven’t played AC in [x] days and I feel [guilty/bad/sad]”

First off, AC in its history has often intentionally been designed as a game you pick up and put down at your leisure. A companion when you need it, never a burden or obligation.
Secondly, none of us are in the same headspace we were back in March. Nor should we be, really. Life is constantly changing. It’s ok if your day to day is different.
Thirdly AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, the friendships you made and the community you found through ACNH should not hinge on your constant participation in playing AC.
Like, if you’re in the KH fandom, you don’t stop being a KH fan the minute you aren’t playing a KH game on the daily. You still get to be an HP fan if you haven’t read the books in years. Just because you can play AC everyday doesn’t make you less of a fan when you don’t.
But also, if your community thinks less of you, calls you fake, or abandons you the second you stop performing your fanaticism the same way they do, then that’s not a community you want to be in.
Dear heart, frendo, sweet sweet summer bean. It’s ok. If anyone gives you crap for not playing, you tell me and I will beat them up for you. Exist in a way that makes you happy <3
