I was still in 8th grade so I got to sleep in later, but with her release we started waking up at the same time

I’d wake up, put on my coat and slippers, shuffle around to the next street over (we were pretty much backyard neighbors), climb up to her window and tap on it and wait a few seconds for her to peak out the window so I knew she was awake

Some mornings I’d wake up early and make breakfast for us and drag her ass to my house so she could have eggs and orange juice with me

I swear that woman could sleep through ANYTHING but the lil *tap tap tap* I’d do with the tip of my fingernail worked every time.

One morning her mom was in her room when I did it and popped up at me through the window like
