sneaker resale sites could refuse to deal in product until it& #39;s been out for at least a month and provide some breathing space for hyped releases but money
this way people pay inflated prices because the L on the retail drop is fresh when in reality resale prices might drop in a month when things calm down
if sites put a month-long (or even week-long) buffer on reselling shoes like these, the people just hyped on them for the moment might reconsider, but the people who really want them would still buy them
but they& #39;d lose those in the moment sales when people will pay anything, so of course it won& #39;t happen. this shit is predatory.
it& #39;s the same reason people list shoes on eBay with a "GOT & #39;EM" screenshot instead of waiting to have shoes in hand. gotta get that resale money while people are still fiending and before they can take a breath and reconsider
my advice is, if you take an L today, do NOT pay resale this weekend. give it a week. give it two weeks. take a breath, consider whether these are something you really, really want. if it is, a week or two won& #39;t make much difference.
if you have to have them RIGHT NOW, it was never about the shoe at all. it& #39;s about that dopamine hit, it& #39;s about some weird need to be FIRST. well guess what. you& #39;re not first anyway. relax. wait.
you know why you didn& #39;t hit on UNION (or on SNKRS, or whatever it is)? you didn& #39;t hit because the people looking to resell hit instead. don& #39;t reward them twice. let them sit on them for a while. let THEM think too.
