Facebook has a similar policy to the one Twitter applied; Trump& #39;s Facebook post could be considered a misrepresentation of the "methods for voting" and also, "whether a vote will be counted" given Trump& #39;s false statement that people can vote multiple times.
But Facebook didn& #39;t apply these policies. Instead, it added a link to its Voting Information Center, something it said it would do to all posts that discuss voting. Eg here& #39;s a post by PBS about voting that applies the same link to the Voter Information Center:
The takeaway here is that Facebook& #39;s inaction on Trump& #39;s false post allows false information to propagate without any distinction of whether the original information was true or false.
This makes me think of a quote from Harvard Prof. Case R. Sunstein& #39;s paper, Falsehoods and the First Amendment: "for some falsehoods, the marketplace works exceedingly poorly" Especially with election integrity on the line, labeling a post w/ "additional info" is not enough.
