Here it is!!!! FINALLY I begin my watch/read of probably my most anticipated series ever... ONE PIECE! Here is the thread:
I will be following the advice of my good friend @PokemanZ0N6 on how to consume the series and bouncing between the anime and manga. To begin, let’s read chapter 1!
Damn, Shanks getting de-powered already? Great first chapter, sets the tone for what will be an incredible adventure.
Now that chapters done, onto the anime! Forgot the first OP was such a banger!!
One thing I initially LOVE about the start of One Piece is Gold Rogers. Straight off the bat, we have a character shown who plot wise is integral yet we know nothing about. Immediately hooks you to want to learn more about who he is and how he came to be that powerful.
Romance Dawn done! A lovely introduction setting up Koby to come back later down the line I’m sure, Zoro joins the crew and already lots of world building. The Grand Line, Devil Fruits, I’m so excited to learn more! Next up: Orange Town.
Aaannndd that’s Orange Town completed too! A little slow to start but I 100% understand that we need to collect all the crew, go on these mini adventures and establish some things before the heavy stuff kicks in. Shoutout to this guys VA lol

Syrup village complete! I wholeheartedly welcome the addition of Usopp to the crew, he was the member I knew the least about going in and already he is very likeable. A well executed backstory, well executed arc and another step towards a full crew. Baratie arc here I come!
Damn, the hype for the Grand Line is real!!! Sounds like all the big boys and girls are knocking about over there, let’s hope we set sail for there in the next arc or 2.
HOLY FUCK is that Mihawk??!! The fact I recognise that name and vaguely the face must mean he’s a big name player? Come on babyyyyyyyyy let’s spice things up in here!!
FUCK MIHAWK IS COOL. SO IS ZORO. THAT MINI FIGHT WAS EPIC. NOW IM HOOK HOOKED ON ONE PIECE. GIVE ME LOTS MORE OF THAT PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

Arlong Park complete! Really well executed, especially the ending and how Nami ties her backstory up, that was amazing. Some great moments and your typical Shonen arc. Now time to switch over to the manga for the following few arcs!

Loguetown was a very fun and high energy way to end the East Blue Saga! Overall, a great start, it can only go up from here! Onto the Alabasta Saga we go, Wohoooooo!!!

I am TOTALLY enthralled by the world building in One Piece. I want to know everything, the pirates in the Grand Line, the history of the Grand Line, the lore, the Marines, the politics of the world, the 7 warlords of the sea, it’s just so rich and I fucking love it.
Okayyyyy Little Garden done! so far, no bad or boring arcs yet, I’ve enjoyed them all, I still think Baratie is my favourite though. I enjoyed the introduction of the 2 giants and look forward to getting closer to seeing Crocodile! Now back into the anime for Drum Island!
