my greatest pet peeve, a thread: i keep my phone on 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, because i live alone and do not live with my son, so in case of emergencies, someone can always get in touch with me, or i can quickly get in touch with others...
not a week goes by without someone, usually an acquaintance, messaging or texting me after midnight or before 7am. note: not emergency related. i& #39;m a light sleeper, so i get woken up in the middle of the night, and can& #39;t fall asleep again https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😠" title="WĂŒtendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: WĂŒtendes Gesicht">
do people just have no regard about disturbing you, at any time of day? zero consideration about how you would be affected? do they not stop to think that perhaps it& #39;s inappropriate to want to start a conversation pre-dawn?! aargh!
this trend is with men & women. so you& #39;ve woken me up, now i need to stop fuming at 3am & explain boundaries to grown ass people?! i think people who grew up before cell phones, know the phone rules of when to call, and when not to call. house phone rules apply to text too!
also, while i& #39;m on the topic, let& #39;s bring back office hours. initiating a business related conversation with me at 6pm, is not cool. just because you forgot to call me earlier, or your day hasn& #39;t ended, doesn& #39;t mean i& #39;mavailable for you. wait for 9am sharp the next morning.
ugh! it has just happened again. "hi, i got your number from your friend..." a text that came in a 05h18... the audacity is amazing!
wow. it& #39;s even worse now that i know who it is. guys, just be considerate. communication should happen at your convenience, AND THEIRS! you really can& #39;t assume that things revolve around you. so annoyed.
