How is this even POSSIBLE other than Trump& #39;s hammering on lie after lie about how he "built the greatest economy"?
The EVIDENCE (remember THAT STUFF?) says otherwise.
Biden leads Trump on most issues, except one that voters say matters most https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/video/biden-leads-trump-on-most-issues-except-one-that-voters-say-matters-most-90149445811">https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-... via @nbcnews

Let& #39;s look at what Obama / Biden inherited and the look at what they handed over to Trump on a silver platter.
First: Markets
Obama/Biden took office in January of 2009. The S&P had dropped under Bush to 700. By 2016, when Trump was elected, it had gone up to 2100. Up 200%!

Obama/Biden took office in January of 2009. The S&P had dropped under Bush to 700. By 2016, when Trump was elected, it had gone up to 2100. Up 200%!
Now, unemployment and jobs:
Again, Obama/Biden inherited an unemployment situation which, by the time they got into office was at 10%. When they left, it was down to about 4.25%. Again, cutting it by more than half.

Manufacturing had also been handed to Obama/Biden in terrible condition. But over their tenure, it had improved across all segments by anywhere from 50% to 100%.
For the average worker and small business owner, things had gone from terrible to great just during the term of Obama and Biden as well:
Again, Americans also saw their personal finances improve dramatically, with home ownership increasing, consumer spending going up, and debt and debt hardships plummeting:
Yet Trump claims that HE built the great economy. It& #39;s important to look at numbers before COVID19 when Trump had inherited the momentum of Obama and Biden& #39;s thriving economy. During Trump& #39;s first 3 years, the economy only continued on the same course set by Obama and Biden.
Indeed, in the last year or so before COVID19, GDP actually started to drop off during Trump& #39;s administration.
And then COVID19 hit. And only a fool can& #39;t see that Trump& #39;s first denial of, then delayed response to, then finger pointing, then denial of science and fighting

against CDC policies and encouraging states to reopen too early, and even discouraging mask wearing and social distancing by demanding schools open for face to face instruction all led to more deaths, more cases, and a killer second wave in the red states that followed his lead.
There can be no doubt that this led to the US economy performing much, much worse in 2020 than it needed to as a result of the pandemic. Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and even Africa are all doing markedly better than the USA, and their economies are showing it.
In fact, the USA is having to keep company with nations so small that their percapita statistics are skewed or are nations that the USA has never been in the same company of either economically or in terms of health... ever.
So, Trump has destroyed all of the employment gains given to us by Obama and Biden and he has returned GDP to where it was before he took office.
In short, we cannot let this lie define Trump in this election. Biden has proven that he can build a great economy having been handed a bad one. Trump has only shown that he can destroy one.
The fact that Trump keeps telling the lie over and over again, does NOT make it TRUE!

Addendum:
Some Trump supporters who are really bad at counting have made the claim that Trump has had markets that outperformed Obama / Biden.
Even though the markets do NOTHING to DIRECTLY impact employment, wages, or productivity (only make money for speculative investors),

let& #39;s explore that one, too.
Let& #39;s see: Obama takes office January 2009.
S&P: 932
Obama Leaves January 2017:
S&P: 2277
Time: 96 months
Change: 18% average growth for 8 years.

Trump enters office: S&P: 2277
Presently: (last 12 mo) 2200 to 3370
Time in office: 3.71 years.
Growth: -0.971% to 12.9% growth per year.
At BEST, Trump is 5.1% slower S&P growth than Obama/Biden.

Unfortunately, even ONLY looking at markets, Biden / Obama STILL blow Trump away economically.
Sorry, your "economic winner" president couldn& #39;t put up the kind of numbers for 3.7 years that Obama / Biden did for 8!
It must hurt when you hear lies so much you believe them.
