OK, I& #39;m gonna do a first and make a thread that has the specific intent to reach far and wide with this site& #39;s cartoon community.

I think everyone needs to exercise something and find their voice.
I won& #39;t beat around the bush, the cartoon community has long had a stigma of people being overly obsessed and nitpicky towards children& #39;s animation, and not being able to really understand how to do proper criticism, be it story/writing critique or animation/critique.
On one level, while it& #39;s definitely more annoying to see these takes on Twitter than YouTube videos, the reach of a YouTube video over time means it impacts people& #39;s view on the community and animation fans in general. When someone CONFIDENTLY spreads misinformation, we all hurt.
It& #39;s exactly WHY fans of specific shows fear it when controversial figures make huge diatribes on YouTube because to many, that& #39;s going to be their first exposure to the show, and they can just put it down and trash on it forever.
I don& #39;t just have to IMAGINE this either, but show crew members I think are getting so annoyed with misinformation and bad faith critiques, that when fandoms make fun of people making these critiques, they can& #39;t tell what& #39;s real and what& #39;s fake.
I see a lot of people who have an individual voice and opinion on shows and channels that I think would greatly add to the community and broader discussion of animation, but they& #39;re locked to Twitter. Think of how many people who& #39;ll never hear this perspective.
I know not everyone& #39;s comfortable with making YouTube videos, even as a hobby it& #39;s definitely a commitment and you have to constantly improve. But I feel like if your opinions are solid, you& #39;re willing to be better, and you& #39;re willing to assess things fairly, people will stay.
Look at me. I started 2020 with nothing but NOW I literally have ToonrificTariq on speed dial. I got to connect with other people, regardless of their size, because they liked my voice and what I had to bring to the table.
I realized that I couldn& #39;t sit by the sidelines and simply wait for the CHANCE for someone to say how I& #39;ve been feeling, I had to take the chance and just say it, regardless of whether or not people viewed I wanted to be the change I wanted to see.
The community has always had a stigma and due to recent events we kinda have a new one on our hands, and the potential for outsiders to view us in a negative light all over again. Which is a shame because lately I feel like we have more voices than ever.
No ONE person can cover everything, but the things talked about by certain people compliment their personalities and editing styles so well. I feel like we need more unique perspectives to really change the "meta" of cartoon reviewing.
Of course, having some form of variety outside that wouldn& #39;t hurt either. This is just my thing, because my channel is insanely personal and I wanna talk about literally whatever makes me happy. Toku, anime, video games, whatever. But I& #39;ll always be a & #39;cartoon& #39; channel.
It& #39;s a long process and it might not always give you the results you want, but I ENSURE you that taking the first step of making a channel and really trying to contribute something to the overall conversation will make a difference to you and the group.

Just find your voice.
