Rosie Duffield& #39;s apology letter is good, actually.
First, no TWAW/TMAM. That& #39;s what they& #39;ll have wanted, she didn& #39;t yield. In fact, by saying "women& #39;s and trans groups" she clearly sees them as separate. (She does say "different groups of women" later, but it& #39;s vague enough.) 1/

She contextualises this debate as one about language (not identity), and that she& #39;s apologising for carelessness (not for being wrong about who has a cervix). And later, again, she makes clear that it& #39;s about better communication and raising health screening awareness. 2/
Really, the worst thing she does from a GC perspective is saying "most women, some trans men, and some non-binary people..." - which I don& #39;t think is so bad. It& #39;s the bare minimum she can do in this situation. It& #39;s enough to get her out of this hole, but no more. 3/4
She ends by appealing to proper debate and mutual respect. She knows all too well that these concepts are anathema to the people calling for her head.
Ultimately, I think the whole apology is very carefully written and gives little ground to the trans cult. It& #39;s good, actually.
