post-ds, ppl left comments that i made bokuto so perfect haha and that was partly intentional bc the third person limited pov was so close to akaashi. but i also didn& #39;t wanna sell my man short lol bc he& #39;s a v neat character who akaashi thinks of as an enigma. so bokuto pov then.

to distinguish him from my akaashi, bokuto ended up being more prone to his mind wandering and compressing his memories in real time. there& #39;s even a bit in the miyajima fragment where future him was the one narrating pala, and there was even a glimpse of the future.
next: what& #39;s the conflict? i rewatched in the mood for love on 14 july on a whim, and i ended up replaying the angkor wat scene and crying with the same intensity each time lol so i was like y& #39;know what, ekphrasis of this. let& #39;s do it. didn& #39;t know yet how it would figure, but go!
i wrote the opening fragment the next day, showed it to moon and she was like omg it& #39;s great and i was like ok keeping that. then i came up with the title, wisdom (perception) check from D&D bc it was related to difficulty spike, also a gaming concept, to show its sequelhood.
from the title idea, i got the central conflict: akaashi jiving with someone from college more than he does with bokuto, bokuto seeing that, and feeling jealous & insecure. i based miyamoto on people who are Exactly Like Him lol, but didn& #39;t end up pursuing jealousy as strongly.
and then. this time, i also wanted bkak to have more convos bc while they do understand each other a bit, i wanted to pursue this idea of like sometimes when you try to make yourself understood and do the same for others, neither of those attempts meet. the gap in between was v compelling.
another thing i wanted was to breakaway from the circular form i did in my other fics haha bc moon absolutely roasted me abt mundanities when she said it was "chekov& #39;s gong cha" rip. i still tried to connect everything together by repeating motifs in the final fragment.
