Science Twitter is going nuts over a white professor allegedly pretending to be a queer Indigenous woman and shutting it down by having the account & #39;die of COVID& #39;, and with my fandom hat on it& #39;s just like...oh, this again

not that we weren& #39;t all scandalised and fascinated by the various fandom sockpuppet dramas but the modus operandi of identity-as-defense and attempting a dramatic exit? so not new

anyway I& #39;m gonna rate this whole thing 6/10 for dedication to the act over a fairly long period, given the number of RL people I know who were sad about the & #39;death& #39;, 2/10 for originality
